How we work

We manage every step in the production process to ensure high quality control and complete peace of mind. From our manufacturing facility in Alcester, we can produce your foam conversion from a technical drawing. Alternatively, we can sample and produce a prototype and provide full costing. We have a low minimum order quantity and have the capacity to provide large volumes to tight production schedules.

Sectors we supply

Aerospace

Foam is used in the aerospace industry for seating, cushioning and soft trim. It has low water absorption and water vapour permeability. It can also be flame retardant and is extremely durable with excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties. It can be thermoformed, routed and water jet cut to achieve the most ergonomic and economic design.

Automotive & railway

Foam is often used in the automotive and railway industries for seating and upholstery. Foam is lightweight and various grades are resistant to grease, brake fluid and coolants. It contributes to reduced vehicle weight and therefore, improved fuel economy. It can also be used to provide superior protective and cushioning qualities for fragile and high cost parts.

Construction

Foam is used extensively in construction. It is very effective for filling gaps, acting as a barrier to water, oil, fuel and draughts. It can be used to seal eaves and roof flashing. It is also a consistent, durable and insulating building material. It’s ideal for expansion joints and provides soundproofing and noise control for floor joists and sports floors.

Industrial engineering

Foam is flexible, hardwearing and waterproof. This makes it ideal for anti-vibration solutions for building and machine foundation insulation. Foam is also ideal for valve protection as it is oil and fuel resistant. It can also be used as inserts for delicate and valuable components which need to be packaged and shipped.

Marine & flotation

Foam is lightweight and incredibly buoyant. It’s ideal for man overboard systems, horseshoe lifebuoys, foam vests and life jackets as well as upholstery and seat cushions. Foam can be more effective than inflatables as it won’t puncture or lose its buoyancy, even on impact.

Medical, Healthcare & Mobility

Foam is most commonly used in the mobility sector to create soft padding for wheelchairs. It can also be used for knee, arm and head supports. It is incredibly durable and resistant to water and oil, making it a hygienic choice for healthcare. It can be cleaned and used by multiple patients reducing the risk of cross contamination.

Military & Defence

For military and defence applications, we use Plastazote foam. This is non-corrosive and gives long-term stability for storing sensitive items. It’s also oil and fuel resistant and we can supply explosive compatible grades for military components and equipment. Foam is also used to create body armour for the police.

Packaging, design and promotional

A foam insert can enhance the look of a product as well as providing protection. Foam is inert, stable, lightweight, resistant to chemicals and water resilient – and it can be profiled, routed, water jet cut and shaped.

Sports and leisure

Foam and rubber are used extensively in sports and leisure, particularly for equestrian, swimming and caravan applications, but also in the toy industry, film and theatre. Thanks to its cushioning properties, foam can also be used for body protectors, shin pads, helmet liners and handlebar pads.
